The Manager of Pro Bono Partnerships and Projects will oversee and manage the Immigration Justice Campaign’s pro bono programs, through which Justice Campaign volunteers provide or support pro bono legal services to detained immigrants. The Manager will ensure the proper functioning of the Campaign’s diverse array of pro bono programs, including:

(a) established partnerships with legal services organizations around the country;
(b) the Dilley Pro Bono Project;
(c) the Remote Bond Team Project; and
(d) any special projects that may arise from time to time.

The Manager will take primary responsibility for overseeing the Campaign’s processes for volunteer placement and pro bono support, from ensuring that cases are referred by our local partner organizations to ensuring that Campaign team members are providing top notch training, mentorship and technical assistance to Campaign volunteers at the national level. This position will require liaising internally with Campaign team members and externally with local partner organizations to satisfy pro bono program deliverables, evaluate and troubleshoot the Campaign’s innovative approaches to pro bono services, and manage the collection of pro bono program data by the Campaign.

A significant portion of the Manager’s time will be devoted to serving as the Campaign’s primary point of contact for the Dilley Pro Bono Project (DPBP)—a collaboration between the Campaign and other organizations. The Manager will manage and oversee the relationship between the Campaign and other DPBP collaborators, and work with those partners to jointly set goals for the DPBP.

The candidate must possess substantive immigration law expertise not only to serve as a thought partner to our local allies in the field of pro bono work, but also to think creatively and strategically to help the Council adapt its pro bono representation models. In addition, the role is responsible for devising and implementing new pro bono models to respond to myriad enforcement contexts.
